Hi, guys!

Quote:
Everyone is welcome to attend this talk.

This talk is part of a collaborative effort between DCS and HATII for the MSc program in Computer Forensics & E-Discovery.

01 October 2008 - Room 423 Sir Alwyn William Building - 1 to 2 PM

Myths and Reality of CyberCrime by Prof Christopher W. Johnson

Companies and regulatory organisations are investing heavily in detecting and protecting themselves against CyberCrime. However, there are very few public studies of major attacks. This talk will take the audience through a multi-million dollar fraud that relied on the IT infrastructure of banks in the US and Ireland. We will show that much of the investment in CyberCrime protection is being wasted. It would have provided no defence against the attacks that were used in this fraud.

Brad Glisson, Ph.D.

Course Director and Lecturer in Computer Forensics and E-Discovery Humanities Advanced Technology and Information Institute (HATII) George Service House

Is anyone going to visit this seminar? We have a break from 11 till 14 tomorrow, so the time is reasonable. I think, I 'll go.
